Portland Trailblazers #1 draft pick Greg Oden will be sidelined for the 2007 due to micro fracture surgery to repair cartilage in his right knee.
This brought to mind the Sam Bowie pick over Michael Jordan in the 1984 draft.

I don’t believe that Oden will be anything like Bowie, in fact Oden will be a perenial All-Star and one of the new many faces that the NBA will market.
The only downside to this is that he will be one year behind Kevin Durant in his NBA development.
